Historicorps has Officially Launched!

HistoriCorps has officially launched! A special introduction of the pilot program was provided at the Western Heritage Luncheon of Colorado Preservation, Inc’s annual conference, Saving Places. The luncheon provided a presentation by Ann Pritzlaff, President’s Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, which included an overview on the mission of the program, how the initiative became a reality, and the upcoming projects planned for the summer of 2010.

Joining us for the official launch were Jim Bedwell, Director of Recreation and Heritage for the USDA Forest Service, Michael Kazcar, Federal Preservation Officer and Heritage Program Manager for the USDA Forest Service, and Maribeth Gustafson, Deputy Regional Forester, Rocky Mountain Region, USDA Forest Service. HistoriCorps is appreciative of the involvement and encouragement from these individuals and the overwhelming support from the USDA Forest Service in total.
